Cryptoloop v0.4.0 is available.
After some troubles with the cjb.cc servers, the whole site it back online. Sorry for the interruption.
The forum is back online.
A new text is online. Go here to see why you should not trust drivers.
Happy new year. The site is back on another host since pirge's server will be shutdown soon. Unfortunatelly I have (once again) no write access on php scripts which means that the forum is down again. If you need to post something I suggest that you go here .
Two new releases today:
A text on the registration of Zeta is here.
Added a "papers" subsection to the cryptoloop section. Updated links section.
Cryptoloop v0.2.0 is available. Performances are much better now.
V3 of the site is online! navigation should be more easy. The main sections have comprehensive names now. I also added a cryptoloop page. Javascript is now required for correct navigation.
A new text is available: the conception of cryptoloop is here.
First update of the year, and a new tool: The first release of a cryptoloop implementation on beos is here.
RevEng 1.2.0 is available. A new graph option is available.
The site has moved to another host. Thanks a lot to pirge for this. The files are still hosted on sarovar. The big news is that the original messageboard is back! Go here to start talking about reverse engineering.
Little update in the links section: Pirge's link was down, and added another reverse messageboard link.
A patch to improve memcpy on amd systems is available here.
ElfSh is now working on Be. I released v0.51b3 on the tools section. This version does not support rel injection with global variables (but it supports static globals). However it supports injection on a shared lib.
The 1GB memory patch is available on bebits! Here is a little essay explaining how this was done. Welcome in the wonderfull land of the boot...
Arrrgh! Quick updates are always bad! v1.1 of the terminal patch is a crap, so you should not use it. Anyway v1.0 has the same bug but is seems to be less intrusive (I used it for quite some time now without troubles). You can still download the first version of the patch here. I will post a correct fix asap.
An update of the terminal patch is available
here.
The tutorial is also updated to explain the changes made to fix a bug when
using a mouse with 2 wheels.
Back on the beat!
Well, the first update of the year. Unfortunately this is a forced update
because tuxfamily will be down for some time. So, the site is back on another
host. Unfortunately, I have no php write access on this host. This means that
I can not bring the forum back with discussions archives. Anyway sarovar
provides a forum, so let's (try to) use it. Here are the news:
RevEng 1.0.2 is available. Another bugfix release. Thanks to OscarL.
RevEng 1.0.1 is available. This is a bugfix release.
Here it is: RevEng 1.0 is out. It was almost ready for weeks but I didn't have the time to put it here. Of course there is nothing new in this release, just small bugfixes and little improvements.
Hey, I didn't write a tutorial for ages! So here is a new one (in the earth section). It just explains how I did the netpositive patch that was released last week.
A new patch is available. It will change the way netpositive opens new windows: Instead of cascading new windows, they will stay on the same position than the original window (just as opera does for example). There are also few updates:
RevEng 0.9.9 is out. It brings minor improvements and is now provided in the terms of the BSD license.
The Alternative Reversers Messageboard is available in the air section.
Welcome to the new Arcimboldo theme! Hope you like it.
I updated the links.
The site was down the last days due to servers updates, and then servers and disk crashes! You will find a new tutorial explaining the link between a C++ app and its asm code.
Updated the info page and added kernel patch v1.1. There is nothing new in it but little improvements, and a real readme file.
Added a hey based script in the tools section that prints the texts of all textfields of an application... including the password ones.
I added a new section (tools) that contains all the reverse patch I did or contributed to (only 2 for the moment!). So enjoy the first kernel patch of the Beos Reversing Unit :-). This one may be followed by another one with extended MMX optimized code...
Due to the recent discussions dealing with athlons XP compatibility with
BeOS, RevEng 0.9 is released today even though it is not finish. Now
everybody can disassemble his (her?) kernel (It didn't work before due to a
bug) and search for a patch that will make it boot on a XP!
Anyway it contains several new features, one of which generates tags to ease
the navigation in the dead-listing. This feature is explained in my new
deposit tutorial. Finally, RevEng is now open-source but I don't know yet
what license I will use (I will choose one for the next release). It should
be easy to recompile, but be sure that you have the latest release of
zemlib.
So here is list list of new things:
The site was down for several days. I am sorry for this and it is my fault: tuxfamily changed their web-server and I didn't switched my space. Anyway I used this "forced update" to add several things:
I'm still working on RevEng, but since I'm also working on other projects I'm afraid that you will have to be patient. If some of you still don't know, the next release will be open-source and multi-os.
Hidden update, new section, and new release of RevEng:
Big update of the site. Now you will find several things here:
